My fave of wheat-free cookies! January 27, 2007 T. Bates (Port Orchard, Washington United States) 15 out of 18 found this review helpful
Summary:
Peanut butter, plain: A bit "rubbery". I cooked them a little longer in microwave and added chips. ;^)
Peanut butter, choc. chip: Crispy, crunchy, crumbly, rich and VERY addictive! (Yes, they always arrive broken up somewhat, but you won't care.)(Like other chip one, only 5 oz. box)
Swirl shortbread: Too heavy and buttery for me. Nice texture.
Choc. Chip shortbread: If you like shortbread, this will taste decadent! Rich choc. chips. Crispy and yes, also addictive! (Note: only 5 oz instead of 7 oz. box)
Butter shortbread: Couldn't really eat these. Too heavy and buttery. Least favorite.
Haven't tried others yet.
I have a wheat allergy and never tasted shortbread again until I found these wonderful delights at the store in the health-food section! The shortbread choc chip I tried first has not only the unique taste of shortbread, but has chocolate chunks also! They are crunchy and light.
In comparison, they weigh less than some other Pamela products. They are not as "buttery" as the Butter Shortbread or Swirl (a good thing in my opinion). I love the pecans also!
Recommend to any wheat-allergy sufferer, or gluten intolerant person. :^)
If you like crystallized ginger February 14, 2008 Myrna 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This was my third time ordering this product. I really enjoyed the first 2 cases of the cookies last year, but this batch was not as flavorful and had a dryer, harder texture. At first, I thought my memory of how good they were was just faulty, but my daughter told me she felt the others had been much better, too. I contacted Pamela's Products about the problem, and after some discussion, they sent me replacement cookies. These cookies made me fall in love with this product all over again - they had an enjoyable texture and those lovely little taste treats of crystallized ginger pieces that leave the mouth tingling for awhile after the cookie is gone. I am glad I persevered, as these are exceptional for "store-bought" cookies!
Pamela's products are awesome - BusyMom in PA May 12, 2006 D. Hollister (PA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My children and I all have to eat gluten-free. I do most of our baking, but once in a while we splurge. EVERY Pamela's product I have tried has been great! These and espresso chunk are my indulgences. The baking mixes are wonderful if you are in a hurry. Please note: Pamela's does use other things that might be allergens, so please read the ingredient list! :)
So Good, Even My Kids Like 'Em July 3, 2007 Dr. Mom to Three (Suburban Chicago, IL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I can't eat wheat, and it's hard to find cookies and baked goods that don't taste like cardboard, or worse. These chocolate chunk cookies are so good, even my kids beg for them. There are lots of large, chocolate chunks, and just enough cookie to hold them together. They're gluten free, so whether you have a wheat allergy or a gluten sensitivity, these work. I've tried every brand of wheat-free cookie, and these are by far the best.
Gluten Free Cookies - Very Good!! May 13, 2007 Pattie Lou (Tampa, FL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We bought these along with the Walnut Biscotti, as an Easter treat for our relatives with celiac disease. We decided we had to try them first to make sure they tasted all right. We loved them!! I had to stop my kids from eating them before we could give some to our relatives. You would never know that they were gluten free... they are excellent!
